ECC has partnered with Alianza Dominicana, the largest Dominican-American human service organization in the country, to fortify their Best Beginnings family support program.

ECC's Parenthood Plus program gives each Best Beginnings mother a new computer (complete with software, printer and a Web camera); installs the computer and a high speed Internet connection in each home; provides technology training and offers online and staff technical support. Parallel services are provided for Best Beginnings' Family Support Workers to create an environment of optimum communication and information sharing with mothers. Towards this end, ECC has also upgraded the overall technical capacity of Alianza Dominicana, installing and networking new computers throughout the agency.

The touchstone of the Parenthood Plus program is its Web-based application, which opens the door to a new universe of information and opportunity for mothers. The ability to communicate via email with health and childcare professionals, a multi-lingual online children's library and videos demonstrating child development activities are just some of the ways in which Parenthood Plus meets the real needs of families.
