Bio
Tal Litwin is pursuing his MS in Urban and Community Planning at Pratt Institute’s Graduate Center for Planning and the Environment. He previously earned a Bachelor’s degree in Urban and Environmental Policy from Occidental College. He is driven by researching and advocating for policies that achieve equitable outcomes and sustainable socio-economic development in communities. Before studying at Pratt, he worked as a paralegal in a class action lawsuit against Monsanto, taught English in Madrid, Spain, and served as an AmeriCorps Fellow at the City of Antioch, California. There, he focused on community engagement and improving access to city services for people with disabilities. Through this fieldwork and his studies, Tal became enthusiastic about addressing community-wealth building, racial justice, and climate resilience, and intends to pursue a career in the housing and community economic development fields. As a community planning fellow, he is grateful for the opportunity to contribute his skills and knowledge to support community boards in their efforts to create inclusive and vibrant communities.
