Bio

Malak Diouri is pursuing a Master’s Degree in Public Health from the CUNY Graduate School of Public Health and Health Policy with a concentration in Health Policy and Management. Prior to graduate school, Malak earned a BA in Sociology from SUNY New Paltz with a concentration in Human Services. It was during her undergraduate degree, while living in the Mid-Hudson Valley, that she developed a deep-rooted passion for volunteering and being of service to her community. The Mid-Hudson Valley is also where her interest in environmental justice is rooted, spending her free time volunteering with local farms and organizations such as Scenic Hudson. Her public health research aims to focus on the climate crisis as a public health issue, particularly the development of climate change resilient healthcare systems and infrastructure. A daughter of Moroccan immigrants, born and raised in Brooklyn, Malak hopes to lead with empathy and contribute to the greater good of society through her public health work.
