Bio

Madeline Ahn Brandfonbrener is pursuing a Master’s degree in Social Work at the Fordham University Graduate School of Social Service, having earned a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Skidmore College in 2021. She currently serves as a Community Social Worker with the New York City Department of Aging’s NY Connects Brooklyn program, where she provides client-centered counseling to seniors, people with disabilities, and caregivers. Her role involves guiding community members through healthcare, housing, public benefits, and legal services, deepening her understanding of social services in New York City. During her time at Skidmore College, Madeline interned with Planned Parenthood Empire State Acts (PPESA), conducting policy research on Comprehensive Sexuality Education and engaging in advocacy at the state capitol. Beyond her professional pursuits, Madeline enjoys creating jewelry, wig-making, and photography. She is also an active volunteer with an LGBTQ center, where she connects with and supports other transgender individuals. Madeline is deeply passionate about direct practice and advocating for policies that promote health, well-being, and bodily autonomy.
