Bio
Benjamin Engel is pursuing a master’s degree in Public Administration at the Austin W. Marxe School of Public and International Affairs at Baruch College. A history undergraduate from American University, Ben brings a keen understanding and inquisitive approach to community issues, realizing that answers do not come easily and leading with questions is often more rewarding. A lifelong musician, Ben has worked with several arts communities during his 15 years living in Brooklyn and now Queens. Ben participates in public service to address not only environmental sustainability for our region, but to also help usher our political systems into a resilient future. A strong believer that changes start locally, Ben hopes to bridge his passion for helping others into a meaningful career that focuses on transit, green infrastructure, and land use projects at a neighborhood scale. His most recent work with Mayor Adams’ transition team gave him an up-close view on the issues facing the Parks and Cultural Affairs Departments.
