Bio

David Ludwig is pursuing a Master’s degree in Urban and Community Planning at Pratt Institute’s Graduate Center for Planning and the Environment. He earned his Bachelor’s degree from New York University where he studied politics, human rights, and development in the Global Liberal Studies department. His research focused on the effects of climate change on national politics in the United States and parts of Europe, especially migration and food policy. After graduation, David returned to Philadelphia and worked with local mutual aid organizations cooking meals for locals affected by the pandemic. Before attending Pratt, David returned to New York as a Fellow at Repair the World where he worked with food pantries in Brooklyn, cooking and distributing meals and resources for food insecure guests. As a lifelong city dweller, David decided to refocus his efforts towards preserving and improving the lives of the people that he was lucky enough to grow up around, leading him to Pratt’s Urban and Community Planning master program. As a student at Pratt, David has focused on climate change adaptation within New York, especially as it relates to recent changes in waste management policy. In his spare time David enjoys riding his bike and cooking.
