Bio
Gabriela Ramos is pursuing a Master’s degree in Youth Studies at CUNY School of Professional Studies. She previously earned an undergraduate degree in Criminal Justice and Forensic Psychology at CUNY John Jay College. Gabriela has a deep-rooted passion for youth justice and has previously worked with various non-profits in NYC, bringing at-risk and incarcerated youth restorative justice and transformative justice programming. She currently dedicates her efforts at CUNY John Jay as a First-Year Program Associate where she helps first-year students transition into college and helps support them throughout the start of their undergraduate journey. Gabriela has worked closely with the Loisaida Center to help bring their online civic engagement series to life, working alongside Lower East Side community members and board members to help make this program one that would be useful to the community. Throughout all areas of work, she has consistently made it her mission to advocate for a more just and equitable future. Gabriela looks forward to using her extensive experience in the field of and knowledge to support community boards as a Community Planning Fellow.
